How to motivate yourself to exercise

If a lack of motivation is getting you down and you’re struggling to even force yourself to go to the gym, it’s easy to feel frustrated and like you want to just give up (wondering what the hell happened to the person who looked forward to their workouts).

Despite worrying about losing all your hard earned strength and fitness, if motivation is low it can be tough to get back into it, that first class seeming like such an effort.

My advice to you would be to just start with something. Get moving again without trying to do too much – every workout counts, so get yourself a quick win and feel like you’re doing something.

Try this quick workout, you can do it anywhere as you don’t need any equipment for it and it’s only 15 minutes long, so there are really no excuses!

Make a deal with yourself that you can watch an episode of your favourite box set after you’ve done it, plan it into your day (when will you do it, and where), and then no backing out.

15 minutes will be over before you know it, and you know how good you’ll feel afterwards.

You might even be inspired to book your next class. And if you want a bit of accountability so that you don’t cancel, let us know what class you’ve booked so we can check that you’re there.
